ISO Settings on Digital Camera

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I am slowly learning that the ISO equivalent of 100 is just too slow for indoor shots, even with the flash on (C-2020Z). By increasing the ISO speed to 200 or 400, will I expect to see a reduction in quality? Grain? Sharpness? (I know, I know, I could try this myself).

I realize that with negative film, the jump to 400 isn't that big of a deal. However, I am thoroughly familiar with what happens to slide quality above ISO 100.

With digital, what will I LOSE by using a higher speed?

You don't LOSE anything... you get additional noise! I understand noise is black pixels on the image. You should be able to correct this... maybe ... with a image program. Sounds like this is a good area for me to experiment in too. Just got this info by ready the maual.
