Fire at Cheyenne refinery quickly put out

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A pipeline containing butane broke Tuesday night, causing a small fire that was quickly put out at the Frontier Refinery, a company official said. The fire occurred about 10 p.m. while refinery workers were doing routine maintenance and was brought under control by the factory's firefighters a short time later. "The fire was quickly contained by onsite personnel," said Michael Gnagy, refinery safety and training manager. One refinery worker was treated for smoke inhalation but no other injuries occurred. No hazardous emissions resulted from the incident, plant officials said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Carl,

Thanks for posting this. I missed it. Sounds similar to the other refinery reportedly down in Texas City Tx from yesterday. Also was a pipeline feeder to the cat unit, if I remember correctly.
