OT: Does Phil Greenspun need our support?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Before the rollover, I recall Phil Greenspun telling us that he was trying to get a new server in place for this forum. I for one tend to forget that someone has to pay the freight for this wonderful BB and I would be more than willing to pony up if it's needed.

Phil or Ed Yourdon, would you or anyone else who knows the deal please let me and others know if our financial support for this forum is required/desired? I am enjoying the hell out of this experience and would hate to see it go away for lack of a few bucks.

--I said last night I would kick in some cash, especially if it goes to a subscriber/password system, keep the troll spammers out. Also, I would be perfectly happy to have the forum be partially sponsored by clicking on-gulp-BANNER ADS-ungulp. I appreciate the forum, too, faster than any of the wire services, that's for sure! Sorta like matt drudges concept of millions of reporters in real time concept.

Oh man, gotta keep this going. Looks like I might not be driving too much the way gasoline is headin' so I'll have more time for this forum. Gracias, Phil, Ed. Give us yer ads, send us yer bill, just keep us postin'.

Regarding SARA

I made a contribution to this fund to help get the forum back up, and will do so again, if needed. I encourage everyone to set aside a bit for this cause, especially anyone who's been here for months or even years. We've surely gotten a lot of value from being here, and can expect the forum to continue to keep us on top of the news.

Thank you Phil, Ed, and the TB2000 crew. SARA will get a check.

Will have to check with him and see how it went. He hasnt responded to another e-mail, on a different topic, so he may be off before the new MIT term starts Feb. 1st.
