Heat in Tunica? not (PV)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Team SF : One Thread

This actually happened at the Gold Strike. It was Sunday a.m. and the crowd had dwindled. I got a SD game with two other players. Three rounds. Another guy sat down, and didn't play for a long time. He was a friend of the guy at third base, and they were talking. Shortly, the count went high and the new guy reached over and put two greens on top of third base's bet. They won, the count dropped, and the guy took his chips back. Shuffle, play, etc. and then it happens again. This went on for a couple of hours with this guy betting on top of the other bet every time the count went up. On negs, he dropped off. By this time, I had left the table, but kept walking back past them to see how things were going. No heat of any kind, even though they started out with $25 and jumped straight to a combined $200 on one hand. Finally, a boss came over and talked to them for a while, then ended up comping them to the steak house. I saw them later doing the same thing again, with one of them practically counting out loud, and discussing whether it was high enough for the second guy to come in or not. Perhaps $200 is below radar for this place? jim

I am very surprised how little heat there is at that game. It seems to me that every counter who gets CBJN sees that game and DAS and can't get there fast enough.

not only that, but comps too (PV)

Comps are very easy at GS and Shoe. I saw people play for 15 minutes and get a meal comp. I had no trouble getting meals, including room service, and once got a comp for six people to the Sunday brunch, and tickets to the Magique of Brett Daniels show. Also got a suite for three nights. No wonder people like this place. Problem is that the SD games are only good when not crowded. Rule of six means no play most of the time when crowded, and you have to go to the two deckers. Pen improves as the crowd decreases. When very crowded, all I saw was a little over 50%, but when the crowd went down, pen got to as much as 75% Sat. a.m. On Friday night, which was said to be the most crowded the place has ever been, some dealers were actually dealing ONE round to four players at SD. Most were going to one round when they got up to five players, and all were one round to six. But, by late Sunday, pen was 80%.I never saw any heat regardless of the conditions. Maybe they just don't bother you when you're getting you're @ss kicked.
