I found this recently via Suck. It's not an entire site, but an article on "Roman Showers", i.e. vomitting as a fetish. I lived in San Francisco, fetish central, for three and a half years, but this one came as news to me.

On the other side of the freaky coin, this woman referred to Bleed as "one of the most disturbing things" she'd ever seen on the web. After earning such high praise, I guess I can retire from the world of web journalling. How can I top that?

Kristin,

I thought I was being creative when I come back from the mailroom with a bubble wrap stole (a bubble wrap wrap?).

That site really begs the question...when they ship it -- what do they wrap it in?

I've been telling people about Jump the Shark for awhile now. If you're a TV buff, you should really go. Like, right now. Because you'll be spending the rest of the day there, so you'd best get started.

Go on.

From virtualbirth.com:

Making Placenta Prints

This may appeal to some of you who enjoy doing artistic endeavors. Before the birth, pick up a few sheets of nice quality art paper. This can be watercolor paper, or some of the really unique specialty papers found in an art supply store. After the birth, take the fresh placenta and lay it out on the paper. You can make the prints with the blood that covers it, or wipe it off and put ink or paint on it first. To get the best prints, make sure there isn't too much or too little fluid for the print. Many parents have found this to be a fun activity as well as giving them a very unique, artistic keepsake of their pregnancy.

John McCain recently commented that in the 5 years he was a prisoner in a North Vietnamese prison camp, one of his fellow POW's was able to fashion an American flag from scraps of cloth, using a bamboo splinter to sew it together. If you're really hurting to do something creative, you might want to shell out $20 at your local art store before considering activities that represent a bio-hazard.

You would think that the very unique keepsake of the pregnancy would be, you know, the kid...

I like Eric Conveys an Emotion

From the site: The concept here is simple, this is a humor-oriented interactive website. You request an emotion (or reasonable facsimile), and I will try and act it out for you. ... Sure, so some of these may not be emotions per se, we're just having fun here. So what are you waiting for?

I just have to say that those placenta recipes absolutely terrify me. People /eat/ those things?

Isn't it a bit cannibalistic? I mean, it's part of the baby and mother... yuck.

Check out the site www.bettybowers.com This is truely a sick little site...funny...but twisted. This is not for the easily offended guys...

Someone "recommended" this site to me years ago, and it's still there. It is definitely NOT for the faint of heart, or queasy of stomach. Sorry I don't know HTML (yet) or I'd paste in the link: www.rotten.com There is some truly disgusting and tasteless stuff here -- celebrity autopsies, botched executions, etc. I haven't actually looked at any of the pictures since the day two years ago when I foolishly decided to see just what all the fuss was about, and looked at a couple of autopsy pictures. Don't say I didn't warn you.

ChickenGrrl, I've been there. Well, not really 'been there,' per se, but I walked into a friend's house a couple years ago and they were looking at pictures of babies with deformed heads because of the weird drugs their moms were on. Apparently this was amusing. I thought it was scary and I had nightmares about them. I'm serious.

For all you men out there, you no longer have to buy those cheap plastic blow-up dolls for your sexual pleasure. At Real Doll, you can have your own custom-designed chica that will probably bear a striking resemblance to Mariah Carey. Weird. Eerie.

The Brunching Shuttlecocks make me laugh every single day. Their ratings are by far the best ever. Go there.

You all know I'll be back.

Here's one I love: www.cockeyed.com The guy is hilarious. My favorites are "Sculpture Pranks" and "How Much is Inside?" He even has a nice journal kept from his travels across Europe. I highly recommend it.

Check this out:

I recommend the "Unnatural Consequences" article. Oy.

Now, I know that parenting is a subjective and highly sensitive topic but there are limits.

How is it that, in this day and age, we must take a test before we are allowed to anything from driving a car to buying a pet, and yet any idiot is allowed to procreate?
