Gauntlet II, Secret Room

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread

From level 1 go straight to level 6 then on getting to level 24 (it has darkish red walls) get the transportability and transport onto the exit. I did this (with extra coin inserts) and got into the Secret Room with 12 seconds awarded (is it always 12 seconds?).

I don't know yet if this is this repeatable but if anyone else finds a repeatable way of getting into the Secret Room on an earlier level let us all know :) Gaz

Since nobody answered my previous message, I'll answer it partially myself here. Seems to me like level 6 is allways the same, and a couple levels after that. Here's the news: Found out by playing some levels(played it with no recording on) that order of rest of the levels changes somehow, so for example lev 15 can be different between two different machines. Haven't figured out yet how this works. Any other comments on this are appreciated...

Thanks for your hint, but: Your lev 24 can be different level than mine 24th. I think the amount of seconds is not allways the same, it depends on which secret room you enter(yes, there are few different secret rooms, about 5 or so). You can enter SR by many different ways. Don't know if I should reveal this, but here goes nothing: You often are given a hint before a level. Doing what hint suggests can get you into secret room, but not allways. Example: "try transportability" doesn't work if there is no transportability in that level. Even if there is and you follow the trick, you are not garanteed to enter SR. If you got into SR from lev 24, next time there might not be same hint.

some hints that come in to mind:

"try transportability" - means you should transport you into the exit "don't be fooled" - if there are fake exits, you should enter the real exit first on first attempt(so only luck involved) "don't be greedy" - don't take any treasures "go on a diet" - don't eat shootable or nonshootable food, I'm not sure "be pushy" or "try pushing a wall" - push a wall block into exit "try invulnerability" - try it "don't get shot" - well,well... "it could be nice" - yes it could... Sometimes you get from a treasure room to SR, don't know sure when, except you have to find exit there. A could hint in tresroom is "don't be greedy" otherwise "try transportability" and "don't be fooled" are quite certain to work(provided they can be used in that level). Sometimes there's no hint, but you enter SR anyway.

If you exit from the secret room, you'll get a secret code which you can send to Atari, and get a prize(It was a shirt or something like that), if it's send before a date in 1985...

That's all this time, hope this helped

By being pushy you can also enter by pushing another player into the exit as well as a block.
