software for calibrating

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Does anybody know the best way to get the same colors on the moniter and printer? I've tried Adobe gamma but that doesn't give me a printer profile. There are times that I don't want to use Photoshop for printing ( sometimes I use Microsoft picture it 99 or photoprinter). Is there software that will help me . If so how does it work.Or is there an easier way? Thanks for any help.

John:

Give this a try. I found it unnecessary to do everything Timothy says in order to get prints that look like the monitor image.
