The latest incident was a "spectacular, but not destructive" fire in the plant's raw material stockhouse. A company spokesman said it did not appear that the fire would hurt production.

The stockhouse is a storage feeding area that ultimately feeds raw materials from storage piles located in the facility into the blast furnace.

Friday's incident was the latest in a series of incidents at the 1,100-acre Rouge complex, which comprises six Ford Motor Co. plants and Rouge Steel.
