The basics: He was born September 27, 1972 in Sibenik, Yugoslavia (now the independent Croatia), the younger of two sons of a bus driver. He began acting at 9, and attended the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb. At 21, he was cast as Laertes in "Hamlet," but the actor who was supposed to play the title role got sick, so Goran took it, and the rest, as they say, is history. He won three national Best Actor Awards, and has reprised that role every year since at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. He spent a little over a year in the army at the beginning of the war (he trained as a paratrooper). He married his wife Ivana, whom he had dated for three years, in May 1999, and currently lives in Beverly Hills. For more information, go to the Goran Visnjic ER Page at http://www.dreamwater.com/aziel/index.html or to Sarah's Goran Visnjic Site at http://www.angelfire.com/on2/goran.

*Slaps herself upside the head big time* His birthdate is actually September 9th. I meant to say that he *is* 27. Sheesh! Could I be any more dense? :)

Sorry we don't have much on any characters here, only episodes, but when I visited the above-mentioned site last, it was a very nice, complete site and I believe it's updated regularly. You might also check Warner Bros. site, though it's not nearly as comprehensive:

You know? I didn't mean "characters" I meant "actors." Sheesh.

OMG! Goran Visnijc played Hamlet! How perfect! I'm writing a sort of crossover thing where the ER people are cast in roles of Hamlet. Freaky. Anyway, Visnijc just IS the tragedy-stricken Dane. Okay, Mo will quit her little tirade.
