Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board KAPUT

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Articles in the American Chemical Society's Chemical and Engineering News have recently described the newly-active Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board as all but washed up. The agency was created about ten years ago to perform investigations as their title implies, but has only been funded for about the last two years.

Problems apparently stem from a power struggle within the agency, between chairman P. Hill and several board members; few investigations previously undertaken have thus far been released, no reasons given. Hill, a Presidential appointee, has been on PERSONAL LEAVE SINCE NOVEMBER.
