Bi-monthly paychecks, any problems?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Those of you who are paid every two weeks should have received your wages by now or perhaps next monday. Have you any problems to relate, or not? This may be helpful in determining whether payroll databases are, or are not being affected at this point in time.

Not sure. I work part time for a restaurant chain here in New England (CT to be exact), and our payroll is 2 days late already.

I am paid monthly, on the 11th of each month, and mine came through just fine.

Lots of companies and agencies cut or mailed checks early, before the first.

Payroll is direct deposited through ADP-no problems with my deposit yesterday-payroll was calculated on the 10th.

The company passed out all the checks yesterday. Even the checks which were to be automatically deposited. They couldn't do the automatic deposit thing it seems.

Mr. Wilferd's check, which is automatically deposited (mandatory condition of employment) was received and his raise was correctly calculated. :-)

Second hand report: first bi-monthly check of the year for Nationwide agents will be delayed, no reason given by Nationwide to my source of this information (who is directly affected, and asks, "Will they pay interest for the lapse in time between original pay date and when it finally arrives?")

(Answer can only be assumed to be a big NO. Anyone EVER get interest for a delay in paychecks???)

I overheard 2 ladies on the bus last night saying that their company did not get their paychecks. They were not pleased, to say the least. They did say they were told it was a Y2k problem

I posted this info earlier on another post. I work for the City of Albuquerque. They ran an entire set of paychecks before 1/1/2000 to be handed out on payday 1/7/2000 if there were problems cutting checks after the first. There were problems, and so the contingency plan was put into effect. From what I hear, it is a big mess, they are "working closely" with the softward vendor in order to make payroll on 1/21/2000. We shall see.

I ran payroll for our small (8 employees) firm on Friday (we use QuickBooks Pro99) and had no problems whatsoever... My spouse had no problems getting paycheck with raise correctly calculated...

No problems here.

We get paid bi-weekly (not bi-monthly). Our last check for 1999 was the week before the rollover and the first check of 2000 was the week after. All YTD totals were correct and there were no problems.

W-2's came out last week also.
