{Turtle Creek, Michigan} Trip report (R14)

Turtle Creek near Traverse City, MI.

Tall, male dealer named Ken working late swing/grave. When he looks under tens, he lifts the card to the point where you can sometimes get a glimpse even sitting in the middle of the table.

Overall this game is decent -- 1 pass stepladder, 2 piles, 30 card grabs, penetration is about 1.2/6. 12 tables, limits 2-500, or 25-1000 in the 'high stakes' room. Pit is relatively clueless, although I was losing...

(SF) another book recommendation

more importantly, you should get a copy of Read the Dealer by Steve Forte.

the opportunities for tell-play are fast disappearing in the US. if you have access to such a game you really should learn to exploit it. assuming you can do it well, reading dealer tells can be much more profitable than card counting.

(DM) Questions for R14

Sounds like a very nice game. What are the rules? Another thing... if they peek under tens and aces, I HIGHLY recommend reading Wong's Basic Blackjack. The book will teach anyone how to play tells in blackjack. It's very good. Keep those reports coming!!
