Does anyone have any information on the African American/Native American KIRK family. Daniel b.1825 + Leanna(Lena or Leah). They would most likely have been slaves or sharcroppers. It is thought they had three(3)sons. Frank b.feb 26 1866,Will C. b.may 30 1876 and John Giles b. july 9,1880. Please Help!

Would a will from the KIRK family which mentions the slaves each child was to receive help you? I have a copy of all the early wills for Stanly Co. Off hand don't remember the Kirk family names. Lina Boyd

I do not have a direct answer either, however, I too had relatives living in Stanly County. Martha Ann Kirk, b. abt 1822 (married Henry Harrison Milton), her father is Alexander Kirk, b. abt. 1796 (married Polly Forrest). Perhaps this will help when looking in wills.

I am looking for any further information regarding my Kirks too. If I come across your family in my search, I will get in touch with you.
