Fire at Powerplant leaves Kosovo With Big Electricity Shortages

PRISTINA, Jan 12, 2000 -- (Reuters) Kosovo was facing days of major electricity shortages on Tuesday after a fire put its main power station out of action, international authorities said.

Among other things, the report says that the station's other unit is also under repair for unspecified reasons and that the fire broke out at the power plant late on Monday evening and started in underground cables.

Of course thay have, er... had electricity.

After Klintoon led NATO in bombing the daylights out of their plants, an Arkansas-based company gave them a real good deal on all the USED power plant embedded systems they could handle to rebuild their plants with. ;)
