EVERYONE ""PLEASE"" REPLY TO FLINTS GOODBYE POST

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Lets all try to "respond" to Flints goodbye post. I'm sure if his ego is massaged with a 100 to 150 posts he would hang around. It's very evident that he has added a lot to this forum.

now i know i"m not a smart man FLINT but i sure loved vour posts...

-- forest gump (forest@gump.com), January 12, 2000.

That's the problem, Flint's ego needs constant massaging. He gets high whether he is loved OR attacked. The best thing for him is to get back to his life in the real world. This thread is hilarious.

-- Reality Check (Time@for.flint.to.go), January 12, 2000.

Agreed. We don't need him here, or any of the pollies for that matter. They're just here to disrupt. Now we can finally get back to the business at hand.

NO!!! NOOOOOOOOO!!! FLINT! FLIIINNNNTTT! PLEASE COME BACK! DON'T LEAVE ME HERE ALONE! SAVE US FROM OURSELVES! I MIGHT GET POSSESED WITH THE DOOM AND GLOOM DEMON AGAIN!

-- JoseMiami (caris@prodigy.net), January 12, 2000.

Goodby Flint. Check with the IRS on your way out.

-- Earl (earl.shuholm@worldnet.att.net), January 12, 2000.

My first inpression and gut feel is that folks like Decker and Flint have chosen their departure time rather carefully.

I don't think so. They have said all along that they did not expect major disasters and societal collapse. It is now day 12 and we have to scrounge through the news to find anything remotely connected to y2k. They said that there would not be BIG problems, there have been no BIG problems and they got bored and left. I think they are being consistent with their perspective.

If any thing worse begins to happen in March or April, I think they will be back to take the flack.

-- JoseMiami (caris@prodigy.net), January 12, 2000.

Jose -- Who cares? This whole flack thing and keeping score has been the poison dart at the heart of this forum for the past year, but it WASN'T always so.

Most of us have always and only cared about what might happen (and prepping for the worst within the limit of our pocketbooks), understanding what is happening and then living a joyful life afterwards. In the middle of all that, doomer and polly trolls did their best to destroy that process.

If Flint proves dead wrong, I don't care to have him come back to "receive the flack". If I prove right, I have no need to be the "winner". Understanding Y2K ahead of rollover was always like playing roulette, who cares about this nonsense?

And, yes, I said so many, many times throughout the past year, looking FORWARD without knowing the end result.

Which we still don't.

What's your bisiness at hand pal? A circle jerk where nobody interupts with a dose of reality?

Unc,

Your IQ is showing!!

Your Pal, Ray

Flint believes Y2K is over. Why should he stay on a Y2K forum? The debate, which probably didn't belong on this forum to begin with, is over. The only thing to do now is monitor the situation and see how the world is affected by computer problems over the next three or four months. Why don't the Flint fans start a new forum and ask him to participate? If you think he is that great, let him pick the subject.

-- Dave (dannco@hotmail.com), January 12, 2000.

Bigdog: True, who is wrong and who is right is not the issue. I have to say that the evidence seems to be stacking up heavily in Flint's favor at this point. The burden of proof seems to be on us "doomers." Although I am a relative newcomer to this forum, Flint's posts did not seem to be "polly" or "trolling" at all. Just realistic. And ya know what? It appears he was right.

Yeah, I know that we still have to wait to see if Dale Way was right. I know that there is still a possibility of software problems with administrative and accounting systems. There is the possability of an economic downturn, but even Flint expected a "4" or a "5" in terms of the economy. The guy took a lot more abuse than he gave out. And, so far, he was more right than anyone else in this forum.

Love you too babe.

-- Uncle Deedah (unkeed@yahoo.com), January 12, 2000.

Yes, please stay. We lurkers who finally got the nerve to come out in the open will feel like abandoned children.

At least post once in a while.

This is terrible!!!

Jose,

Just a note on Flint... There were times last year when Flint could be the biggest Doomer and other times when he could be the biggest Polly. You have to understand that Flint liked to argue the opposite side of an issue no matter what it was. Flint loved to argue, period. Some people are just like that. I was amazed at how fast Flint could go from one to the other until I began to look at the sequences. He seemed to like to argue, side with the underdog and thereby take on a majority. In other words he sort of had an "Alamo" or Little Big Horn complex going down swinging against overwhelming odds. He never seemed to really post much or well on evenly balanced threads. Go figure?

Y2K is just starting. Funny to see Flint leaving this forum just now. It wouldn't be possible that Flint is chickening out on us, would it?

-- George (jvilches@sminter.com.ar), January 12, 2000.

Ok RC, I see your point. that can be irratating. By-the-way, I do appreciate your research. Keep us posted.

Hey if this place bothers you so much, then leave.

Yes, George, it seems that this is exactly what's happening. What cowards they turned out to be.
