Ed,

I've just finsihed reading your article "Move Over, Rodney Dangerfield -- You've Got Company." I have great respect for your thinking, your communication skills, and your self-control. I wish we could find the time and opportunity to be friends who could just sit together and chat once in a while.

Rick, I ditto that. Planned for the worst and hope for the best. You know...after preparing for a years' worth of potential disruptions.... and even though we've not truly needed to use the preps (using a bit of food now to recoup invested Cash), I now have less pressure on me (the weekly grind), and have been spending a bit more time thinking about how I want my future to look.

I like Ed.

I look at it like this, people have a free will to choose and I would rather have information than not have information. I don't want to see this country become a place where people are afraid to "go against the grain" for fear of ridicule. We are, afterall, a democratic society. I, for one, am not in favor of cloning the American mind.

It is interesting to speak with people who have lived under Communistic rule. I have heard stories that have made my hair stand on end. Nooooo...we don't want to suppress information--even if we don't agree with it.

The only way we know anything in this world is by a comparison to its opposite. We don't know a mountain unless we know a valley; we don't know light unless we have known darkness...and on it goes. Our perception is dualistic.

We are manipulated every day much more than any Y2k Doomers could do. Every TV commercial is an attempt to manipulate the mind to desire a certain product. Take a look at the history of the diamond engagement ring and how that became a tradition. It was a marketing plan to enhance diamond sales. Yet, today...we revere a diamond as a symbol of love. We never give it a thought of how much money a certain company has made on diamond sales. Take a look at who controls the financial market where diamonds are mined.

I do not know Ed personally, but I have read some of his material and I am grateful for his information. I have also heard an interview with him and I thought he was very articulate and professional.

I have a mind of my own and make my own decisions. I welcome intelligent debates based on facts and speculation. Without different opinions we would cease to grow and learn.

Oh my...I have "gone off" a bit here...it happens on occasion.... =)

Dee, Yes, we need a variety of opinions or we are intellectually in trouble.

I agree also. My family came from China. Communism is awful, and Socialism is next in line.
