Exporting 3D animation to VCD , whats the best ratio

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

If anyone is using 3D Max to export animation to Premiere, what Pixel Ratio are you using for being able to play on VCD in a NTSC format? I assume you change this in Max, or do you also change something in Premiere also? And what ratio seems to work best for you? I read that NTSC ratio is 1.12 (I am asking because my round planets look ovel)

Also, what is the size of your targas, or AVI's. Since the Xing encoder is something like 352 X 240, do you want to double that size before you encode? Thanx to anyone that helps.

Well, I am going to be testing with Lightwave and Bryce over the next couple of days. I'll be trying to render at both 720x480 and 352x240. Uncompressed and compressed (using Indeo & Cinepack (?)).

Since I'm still learning and want to do a demo reel as well as home video, I'll be making a few coasters, but the learning experince and seeing how the actual video turns out, will be interesting.

The results should be simular (if not exactly the same) to what will happen with 3DS Max. Will keep you informed through this forum.
