Serious question...why the continued talk about impending doom from Y2K effects...if it was going to happen it would have by now...lets instead analyze why the predictions were wrong and places like Italy didn't have much in the way of problems either...live and learn and all that...what say ye? greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a sincere post, not a troll baiting. Please answer accordingly as an "expert" who has gone thru Y2K and has thoughts to share on this topic. Thank you.

TRYING TO GET SOME Y2k PREP MONEY BACK: TRY........Postal Inspectors

from a post here,,,, I got the feedback as noted:

Paul Davis:

Some of the scammers have gotten very funny. They are fighting tooth and nail to prevent mailorder returns - there is at least a 30 day return policy on most everything, mandated by law, and many states give you a longer time. They sold a lot of stuff that last few weeks, and they are going to spam the Net relentlessly for the next three months, until the last of those 90 day return policies runs out.

THEN, Y2K will go POOF! No more doom from Y2K. No more thousands of cuts. They will start peddling a new brand of survival talk.

OFFLINE COMMENT II:

He's right. If the stuff was shipped by US Mail it might be interesting to send some of your data to the Postal Inspectors. If via UPS then maybe contact the state consumer fraud division in either the sending or receiving state or in both of them. I don't know if the Commerce Commission gets involved anymore.
