here is a y2k software glitch just happened to me

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I work for a State Treasury and I manage investments. I had purposefully scaled back the investments to simple instruments due to Y2K. I today 1/11/00 started with a small error that required a change to an uploaded file to our custodian. The file did not change or post the corrections, upon further inspection no change or file since 12/30/99 (our last workday) has been correct... "well another Y2k glitch" quoted from one of the largest and best prepared custodians on the street. This will effect all of my investment transactions since rollover. I would give more detailed info but this will need to be anon, could effect my employment status if my name associated. I will keep you posted on fix status or other news. I am now wondering how the first month end will go for us all.Don't flame me for not posting specifics, I can't I have a family to feed. This is not internally written software, this software was "Y2k compliant" and only 2 yrs old since implementation.

In a word, ouch. I don't blame you for being wary.

makes you wonder if the numbers on Wall Street are false, and they don't know it. Maybe we will know by the end of the month.

anon, thanks! I am carefully looking at my bank/credit/investment statements as they come in. Guess I will call for anything I don't understand. I'm usually kind of lazy about this. Best.
