Poor Quality Photo Output on Canon BJC7000

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I have a CoolPix 950 and have taken some great photos in fine mode (1600 x 1200) which I have tried printing (A4) on my Canon Bjc7000 printer using a Photo cartridge and glossy photo paper, printer device driver set to optimum settings for photo tank and glossy paper. The results are YUCK! The shadows and facial tones are all washed out, and the overall quality is terrible. Worse still, the colour isn't fast. Over a period of about a week, the colour noticably fades and after a month, the print is all washed out and looks really bad. Anyone any ideas - maybe it's a bad photo tank, but at AUS$100, I don't want to buy another one if it won't help.
