DVD ON VCD

I have a Toshiba VCD player. Can I play DVD movie CD's on this ?

Hate to break this to you, but you absolutely cannot play DVDs with ANY VCD player.

I have the same problem, a Sharp VCD but doesn4t read DVD

DVD's are based on a completely different technology than CD'S. They require a totally different reading mechanism. As a result, VCD players cannot play DVD disks of any type. On the other hand, DVD players have the ability to play VCD's without the slightest problem. One of the most important differences is that DVD's use a smaller wave length (650 nanometres) than any kind of CD (740-780 nanometres). There is no posiibility that your VCD players will ever be able to play a DVD.
