Serious food distribution Y2K Buggreenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread
I put a dollar in change in the vending machine at work and pressed "C5" on the computer console to select the Strawberry Pop Tarts. The little metal coil which distributes the goods spun around, but the Pop Tarts did not fall! How much money can be wasted like this, how much food not getting distributed like this, will it take before society crumbles!? I went to the office manager and told her about the problem. She shrugged and blew me off, telling me to call the vending company. Stupid Pollie! So I called the American Vending Company and told them what happened. They told me I could have a refund. Yea right! I asked them if it was related to y2k. Suprise, suprise, they denied that it was a y2k issue and acted like I was a little crazy. Freakin DGI Pollies! I'm sick of the cover-ups.

Next time go for D3 (peanut M&M's).
M&M has been compliant since last summer. OOps I wasn't supposed to say that.

I am being perfectly serious. This really happened to me. Also, today when I woke up, my alarm clock digital display was BLINKING, indicating that the power had gone out over night (while I was sleeping--how conveniant). Does this mean we get to start shooting people soon?

desperate days indeed!! my advice for this type of "NON Y2K RELATED FAILURE" (or so the govt and corporate america wants you to think) is to kick the machine or take your hand and put it inside the machine and force the damn tart down where you want her...oops i mean "it". if this doesn't work, quickly get to the store and buy boxes and boxes of those tarts. could be a run pretty quick. come to think of it...i didn't store any pop tarts. wow. my kids will kill me.

Show those bastards. Buy them at Sam's for a third the price. send your receipt to the vending company.
