There were early radio anouncments that the Controls were not functioning at the power plant and the plant was shut down no furthure news was released after the 7:30 radio news. I do not know if the plant is back up.I assume the grid pulled us thruogh the morning hours to all the US power plants thank you for your assistance.FYI The plant here is oil gas and coal

I work for KIM. No such report was issued. My mother died last year and I miss her terribly. We had a great relationship while she was alive.

Wow, thats Armageddon..never heard of power outages occuring before prior to Y2K. Also I never heard of Flights being delayed for 2 hours in the New York/Eastern seaboard area. And a few Banks having glitches - there goes the economy.

Come to think of it I never heard of Computers getting errors or crashing prior to Y2K. Everything always operated perfectly.And the Government too. They never used to make errors or send out Govt checks late or to the wrong address.Hmm..yep.I guess the fact that there are reports of system errors, power outages, and glitches means its all Y2K related and the end is near.

Everyt glitch we hear about now has to be Y2K related because glitches and power outages have never ever been known to occur prior to Y2K. I am getting scared.

Does the power outage mean I should cash in my 401K to move to some isolated outpost?

From KgunTV (ABC affiliate): Power was out in Tucson this morning between 1st Ave & Craycroft and Sunrise to Grant for about 4 hours due to a transformer failure. This area included LaPaloma Resort and Tucson Medical Center Hospital, which went on generator power. According to a Tucson Electric Power spokesman, "it was just time for the equipement to go-it has used up it's lifespan". Power resumed just before noon today.
