The City of Reno's AutoCite parking ticket writers had problems Monday, but the city doesn't know if they were Y2K-related or the result of another glitch. "We thought we had fixed them, but perhaps the fix didn't work," said Reno spokesman Chris Good. The city was still able to write tickets.
At the City of Sparks, the only Y2K-related problem had to do with automatic assigning of police department case numbers. The city's software couldn't assign case numbers that began with two zeroes, but a phone call to the software provider had a software patch installed in a few minutes.
