Problems converting mpeg file

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Hi there!!

I have a mpeg file with a wrong bitrate. It plays on a PC and can be burnt to a VCD by Easy CD (but the disc won't play because of the wrong bitrate). I've tried to convert this shitty file into the right format but every programm i tried gave my a different error massege (xing,dvmpeg,panasonic*,...).....

HELP!!!!!!

i actually have had the same problem. I tried them on a few converters and at some point the program would stop. Just to let you know though when using the panasonic encoder, record roughly an extra 30seconds after whatever your recording/. I convert from 3000bit to vcd format(at 115), but the panasomnic will stop this roughly at 99% and say "could not get data frame rate" or something close to that. HOWEVER it still keeps the file up till that point. So i record an extra 30secs of whatever so this gets cut and not my footage. As far as getting errors with the programs, What i had to end up doing is sometimes re-recording what i wanted to burn to vcd and this seems to work
