100people evacuated from Florida facility following propane leak: cause unknown

Approximately 800 pounds of propane have been released from a 2,000 pound tank. Unknown what caused the release. A vapor cloud has formed over the facility. Approximately 100 people have been evacuated from the facility. No injuries have been reported. Georgia Pacific is named as responsible party UPDATE PER RICK 09:21 EST: Tank is empty. Everyone has been allowed back in the facility

A power outage in Boca Raton has effected 3,000 customers. The outage problem is with three main feeders. Unknown what caused the feeders to go down. FP&L estimates that power will be restored by 0630. Update 0645 per FP&L: As of 0535 all feeders were back on line. cjm

A report has been received that two Citgo Stations are down due to Year 2000 computer problems with credit card readers. The stations are accepting cash only. The credit card readers should be up and running January 3, 2000. TALLAHASSEE AREA: Columbia County experienced problems with the computer aided dispatch system, which will require vendor assistance. DOT weight stations incurred time-date stamp problem with printed scale weight ticket; sealed systems will require technician reset of this cosmetic error.
