The posting. "FWD:Jonah and the Whale" (below) may be only part of the story. Perhaps instead of Ninevah, God has sent Jonah to the new modern day Tower of Babel. For the past few years I have thought that, perhaps, the Y2K Challenge was going to be God's way of confusing our language so that we might be forced to go back fifty years, and reconsider our priorities. But, as He promised Noah, God doesn't use the same set of circumstances twice to teach us the same lesson over and over again. Perhaps the "Tower" was not the Computer itself, perhaps our Tower was the "Potential Y2K Crisis" itself. Think about it.. God HAS "confused our language" (Doomers vs. Pollies, and other opposing points of view. And now, even the post-rollover reporting is confused and contrary ...!!! Perhaps we should stop focusing on the "problem" and look at what we ALL did to find a "solution"! Perhaps the REAL problem was not even the potential Doomer scenario! Maybe the primary problem that God wanted us to look at was getting our priorities straight...God, family, community and country! Maybe, by tearing our systems apart, and streamlining and "fixing" we have now emerged with a better and more efficient network and system. For once, Americans, and the rest of the world were united in a common endeavor...perhaps that is the real message of our "Tower of Babel" and perhaps, like Jonah, we need to focus on who is really in charge!
