Just back from Longview, stopped at Exxon convenience store on loop and I-20, they were open but registers and credit card machines were down. They couldn't even open the registers, and were unable to sell anything for cash or credit.

LOL, you guys don't know how close to the truth you are. My best friend owned and operated the full service exxon station on the North side access road to I-20 from 1975 until the middle of 1999. In that entire near 25 year time period he was never sucessfully robbed due to the fact that he and all his employees carried guns at all times, and didn't bother to conceal them. He also had a selct fire M-16 hanging visible in his office behind the register (legally registered) and a 12 guage riot gun in a rack next to the register. Alternately the Fina convenience store next door to him was sucessfully robbed over 70 times in 1998, and was pushing 80 in 1999 the last time I checked. At least three of the clerks had been shot in these robberies. There is no way after being familiar with these statistics on a personal level you can convince me gun control has a rational leg to stand on.
