Sorry, I don't know how to do a link. I thought that this was interesting. I also find it kinda weird that every system failure that does make it into the news is quickly dissmissed as non y2k related. Funny, I don't seem to remember this much big stuff ( the airline thing and nukes, etc..) happening before the roll over. Could it be that companies do not want to admit these things as y2k related because of possible legal action? Northwest ahs been getting pounded here in Detroit for a year now and I think the last thing they, or anyone else for that matter, would want have the bad press (looking like they weren't prepared and telling everyone they were).

Well, 3 of the five nuke shutdowns in the US DID happen before the rollover :-)

The media may be saying that Y2K was nothing to lose sleep over, but one in four IT professionals surveyed by TechWeb/CMP Media indicate their organizations suffered some Y2Krelated problems since New Year's Eve. While most glitches were termed "insignificant," 16% caused brief service interruptions and 4% caused significant outages.

Fortunately, most problems were resolved within an hour. But nearly 25% of the sites that did encounter Y2K problems say they need more time to fix everything. And it may take longer for all problems to be discovered. An unexpectedly high 10% of sites that were bitten by the Millennium Bug report trouble with their supply chain or extranetand 49% say it's too early to know if customers, suppliers, and partners also ran into Y2K glitches.

See the links for more survey results.

Get a clue. If you would have used any of the following words or phrases in your subject line, then the next person coming to this forum with the same article in hand wouldn't have to guess whether it has already been posted:

IT professionals surveyed, survey by TechWeb/CMP Media, organizations suffered, Y2K problems already... you get the idea...
