The more they scream "It's Not Due to Y2K", the more people will begin to wonder.

My opinion only. I LOVE it when each time a failure occurs they give this standard disclaimer. The only thing better was to admit they were do to Y2K. They are keeping this issue alive and well in the public consciousness. They are linking Y2K failures with problems the average person would not. They are making people vigilant. I hope they continue to do so.

I think the pattern of "protesting too much" is rapidly emerging. I also predict that this disclaimer will soon disappear for these very reasons...

That is just about as bad as every Y2K article having to explain the 99 to 00 issue. Anyone that did not understand the issue by December probably could not even spell Y2K.

Oh yes, indeedy. ALREADY the "man on the street" is beginning to laugh about it Was talking about the FAA Computer Crashing at lunch time in an auto parts store line, THREE people who were listening said SIMULTANEOUSLY "it wasn't related to Y2K" and busted out laughing.

Laughter,

Considering CNN stooped to flashing "not related to Y2K" at the bottom of the screen during their report, I would venture to guess more than "3 people" stopped to think.

What we need is a standard "Not Y2K" logo.
