Why are we consistenly being told not y2k related? Is it lawsuits... or something else... Is mass audience ignorant enough to believe it? I guess.

Or guess what???

Maybe they really ARE NOT Y2K problems!!!!

Ever think of that possibility?

Cheri you are ignorant to the fact that every story has not y2k related. This is overkill. Our we ready for this type of reporting for the rest of the year or longer. Enough already I agree with notready. Get out behind your computer and smell the cofee.

Hold up, doomer_notquite. We've already heard a variety of stories about definite Y2K problems. If every last glitch mentioned was accompanied by a strenuous denial that it was, then I'd be suspicious. As it is, we're seeing some reported that are, others that are said to not be Y2K. As to this whole thing? I'm willing to bet a straightforward answer never surfaces, while people on both sides assiduously claim it is or isn't, which doesn't help much.

>>I am gonna keep posting this till people GET IT. Many on this forum share your concern. Most of us want to hear the truth about failures. There is only one problem. Because of the Fed law regarding Y2K legal matters, and the Insurance Industries stand on Y2K claims, no business in their right mind will admit to a problem associated with Y2K. IT WOULD BE PLAIN FOOLISHNESS TO DO SO. In light of that, it seems prudent for those of us really concerned about the REAL impact of Y2K to post any reasonable failure that seems to be of a Y2K nature. It may take weeks or months of trend analysis to determine if real failures have increased because of Y2K.

Its the insurance! Many have received addendums to existing policies making it difficult to claim if problem is "Y2K Related".
