News Update from the largest party of the New Year, Flash !!! Brasstown, NC home of John C Campbell Folk School and Clay's Corner reports that the "The Fifth Annual Opossum Drop was a huge success, 1200 people celebrated the dropping of a live possum at the stoke of midnight... The live possum was found in a local farmers chicken koop and was carefully handled for all watchers of the "Opossum Drop". The name of the "Ms. Opossum" was not avaliable at time of news release,sorry.... For those who wanted to know.... film at eleven...

The Winner of "The Fifth Annual Possum Drop" was Danny Wilson, this contest was a womanless contest, the former winner last years, Paul Crisp gave up his crown to Danny. There was a drawing of a pottery bowl named Y2KPD after the firing of a canon to mark the stoke of midnight.... Hey,cin ..... this live possum was lowered inside a glass case so no one would get hurt including the possum. Just remember Country Boys can survive :)
