NASDAQ futures down?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

On a gold forum someone just posted that futures are plunging on Globex with NASDAQ down 40 -- "nuclear winter has begun." Can't hotlink. Can someone knowledgeable check this out and give us a little discussion/education here? What does this seem to signal for tomorrow?

Nuclear winter is a reference to tech analyst Jim Hickey's rather astute observation a few months back that the techs were going to experience quite a route once they got through pretending that everyone HADN'T frozen their systems. In other words because of the "non existent Y2K problems" all these real smart companies didn't buy shit for a whole quarter. Those hens are now comming home to roost.

as of 5:05 (Central Standard Time), NASDAQ futures were at 3475.00, down 37.50.

It means the NASDAQ, which skyrocketed with all the .com stocks, is now going the other way. If the futures remain down, expect the market to follow.

Are you day trading the NASDAQ index?

Actually, the guy's name is FRED Hickey, and he writes a newsletter called "The Hi Tech Strategist", I believe.

That link is another big reason why high techs could be in for a very rough ride, but that is not talked about publicly, certainly not by CNBS, as it has gone on under everyone's noses for YEARS, and now the OTHER chickens will come home to roost, at the same time, too!

Kinda like the gold scam, not?

It's no coincidence that GREEDSPIN got re-appointed--Clinton wants to cover his tracks until AFTER he is out of office.

What honest, sane person would do this , given Greedspin's track record since 1987, and especially since about 1990, wherein he has created the GREATEST BUBBLE EVER KNOWN in history!?

To 4@5.6 -- you know, I am not as dumb as I apparently sound to you. I could have written the "deep" analysis in your post. I was looking for something more insightful along the lines of Gordon's reply. Thanks anyway.
