Hey, hey, that's a good question. Just where is all that money going? Not back in the market and apparently not into bonds. Where do it go?

the money isn't going anywhere. Remember, in the equity markets, wealth is "created" by appreciation in the stock prices. Unlike futures that are a "zero sum" market where for every dollar made a dollar is lost. When equities decline, there is a loss of wealth....that is why investing in the future of companies is purely "speculative". Nothing wrong with that but it is what it is.....

Executive bonuses, just like it does every year. This is a bigger slump than usual, but then it was a bigger bubble than ever before. See the connection?

Where do it go?

Watched a video on money one day and they were showing how wonderful our System was and how primitive some South Sea Islanders money was. The Islanders used doughnut shaped stone for trade while we use something like this...$100,000,000,000. Need more? Add another few zeros $100,000,000,000,000. And there you go. Just don't hit the delete button.

Often wondered if those so called meteors I see every morning aren't actually cyber bucks taking off for parts unknown. Saw a beautiful one this AM. Streaked across the sky and left a trail. Must have been worth about $100,000,000,000.

Doesn't look like it's going anywhere specifically in a big way. Alot of it was wealth evaporated!

BTW, when the market prices decline, it doesn't always mean that alot of people are taking their money out. I think yesterday, most of the volume was "in and out" (i.e. hitting bids and not taking offers) until the last 30 minutes or so when the funds had to dump their holdings.

Markets can lose/gain value without any sellers/buyers (N.B. market gaps, spikes, etc.)

[and before anyone has the need to ask, yeah i did pick up an MBA from the 2nd ranked business school in the previous century but since they tried to drill into me efficient markets theory i would doubt they would/could validate anything i've done in the last 12 years, hehehehe]
