Fire destroys two Sydney factories. Two factories have been destroyed in separate fires in Sydney overnight. Cause under investigation. May or may not be OT but worthy of investigation.

I hope it wasn't those 2 aluminum-smelting factories that suffered literal meltdowns a few years ago due to a leap-year problem.

I would hope they would have learned by now. perhaps not.

(sorry, no link today, someone have one?)

Fire happens all the time in Sydney, particularly to secondary schools. Almost "natural" phenomena. (I'm being cynical here.) Also to failing firms taking stocktake and to old buildings protected from developers by a heritage protection order... (It must have been vagrants and junkies, officer. You smell petrol? Must have been those darned petrol-sniffers!) Seriously, though, why should these fires be anything to do with y2k?
