Pyro to Premiere Connection

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

For anyone struggling with the Video Studio 3 and the Pyro firewire card combination or considering it as an update, this site gives details on how to marry the two:

By using an Adaptec codec one can convert the type 1 avi to a type 2 avi for use in Premiere and for videoCd production there would seem to be no need to go back to video studio at all after the conversion.

It is said version 6 of Premiere will have full support, whenever that might be?????????? Until then this is apparently a hot connection being used by a lot of premiere users.

Just an update:

using premiere my rendering times to vcd have come down to 44% of that for Ulead Video Studio so my 17 hour render for 25 minutes in Ulead is now just under 7.5 from premiere.

Ulead, at long last is now relegated to a capture device only until support is provided by premiere for the Pyro avi type 1 capture file.
