Versacheck Pro checkwriting software thinks 2000 is earlier than 1999

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

When I paid bills today, VersaCheck Pro software by MIPS put all of today's payments in the register *ahead* of the last batch of checks I wrote in 1999. Checks still appeared to print out fine, but I can see several hours of fun ahead trying to solve this problem.

Quicken 99 for Business is Year 2000 compliant! :) Or is it Quicken 2000 now??

A lady I know is a church secretary at a nearby church. She said yesterday after posting Sunday's tithes and offerings, her software (I think it was Quicken) was listing every entry as Jan. 3, 1900.
Although this isn't a major shock, by virtue of its occurrence, it leads me to believe we are going to be really bogged down, if not finally drowned, in little, snippety inconveniences like this.

If this tendency escalates across the board with all computer interrelated connections, we've got a lot of mopping up to do.

What application are you using it with? I use Versacheck with Quicken 99 for at home. Y2KStatus: Fully Y2K compliant. No Y2K problems reported to date. Smooth transition. Fully Operational.

Come to think of it, I haven't paid any bills this year(or was that last year?)

I'll let you know when I do.

If I understand your question, I don't use it *with* any other applications. It is VersaCheck Pro, Version 2.0. It not only prints the check, but also fills in all the payment information in one pass through the printer. You may be thinking about the regular Versacheck program, which, I think, simply prints checks that are later filled out using Quicken or some other program.
