..not a computer guy but it seems strange to me that the countries that didn't spend up big on y2k, turned out the same as countries that spent billions. How could this be right..?? Doesn't figure.

Gee, Wally, I don't know what you're getting at. Why should it strike anyone as strange that North Korea, Iraq, Iran, Russia, and China came through it no worse than the big spenders?

Either no one's talking (probable), or expecting visable results this soon was the error in the estimation (possible allbeit small piece of the error equation).
