Nuclear Power Plant Status Reports "Delayed"

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Grassroots Information Coordination Center (GICC) : One Thread

NRC promised a listing of the Operating Status of All Nuclear Plants to be posted after 4 am EST on January 1, 2000. The old report is from December 31, 1999. Here we are on January 3, almost 4th, and no report. Is there something they don't want to tell us in the report? Only members with passwords and security clearance can see the reports, I was told. At least until they are released to the public. And that was supposed to have happened right after the rollover. I wonder if they took a page from the Pentagon's book on withholding info for the public good.

By the way, the reports can normally be found at www.nrc.gov

Search "Daily Events Report" which is the NRC's site for specific event at power plants. Last update there was also 12/31/99. Scroll down a few pages, it's still interesting reading. Makes you wonder what has happened the last 3 days. Trish

The current reports are now on the nrc site.

The NRC reports are indeed interesting. It seems that they are small but are also being downplayed a bit. Power sources compromised to emergency sirens, a Troxler gauge stolen but recovered. I wonder what the implications of these glitches are? Thanks for the referral to the site.
