power and data

i am in the computer repair business and since the rollover we have been testing apple and pc computers on how they were effected. we came up with no significant problems with hardware. however the problem is in the data, and this is why i feel we have not had any real failures in power, please tell me if my theory is wrong. Computers are mathimatical machines 10101010 two digit - two digit 99 98 will compute 99 00 will not compute four digit - four digit 1999 1998 will compute 1999 2000 will compute the problem is in calculations, you cannot mix two digit and four digits and get correct results. this problem will surface only upon weekend, monthend reports. that is why we have not seen any problems yet. the financial world has just lost it's digit memory

Ken, the financial world has been working on this for as much as 30 years (did you here of 30 year loans)most have found a way to work around this. However I expect many lost moments off memory becouse many of the work arounds will not work together, but not a major memory loss. Richard
