Thank You!!!!!

To Whom it may concern,

I have been following this forum for 2 years now and have been in the trenches working the "Y2k Problem" for the same amount of time. I have just come off of a 14 hour shift and have pulled the same since Friday afternoon. I am very tired and look forward to completing one more shift tonight and then getting my like back to some sense of normallcy.

I have rarely posted anything because of contractuall agreements but now I feel a big thank you is deserved by all my compainions who have be working this for years now. People have invested alot of time, effort and money in trying to make this a non-issue. I do not think, (and never have) that this will be a flawless transition. But do believe that what ever problems arise can be managed with a minimal impact to society as a whole.

I do not care if anyone considers me a "Pollie", I would prefere an optomists, but I do think, and always have that life will go on as before. As far as political believes are concerned, I am not a fan of the present admistration and never have been and can not wait for a change. I do believe that this same administration had nothing to do with the outcome of the "Y2k Problem" as I think that businesses were the driving force.

I have had access to much detail of the issues surrounding the transition of the basic infrastructure. And at no point did I ever feel threatened. This is not to say that a curtain amount of prep was not prudent. I think that if anything society should have learned a lesson from the importance of prepping, just not take it to the extreme.

Anyway, I am starting to ramble because of my fatigue. To all that worked so hard and so long, Good Job and thank you for all your efforts.

I have often thanked the grunts in the trenches on this forum and am delighted to do so again: Thank You!

One more thing. I also belive that the fear of legal ramafications was a major factor in getting big busines to put so much effort into managing the problem. This also had a down side in that it has sealed our lips in saying details to the masses about the process by which the problem has been managed. Be that right or wrong I am not in a position to judge as I see pros and cons on both side of the argument.

To you, and people like you we owe a HUGE amount of thanks. Not only in the technical field, but to those who have spent hundreds of hours (and money) trying to help others prepare for potentially serious events. It was not wasted effort or resources. You have become a better person by it.

Thank you.

Congrats and thanks indeed. Be warned -- I fear some will decide to interpret your message as a disinformation campaign being spread by the mass media in order to keep us all in the dark. Somehow, though, I can't see anyone providing proof of that. ;-)

Very Tired....go and hit the sack and sleep well knowing that the world will still be here, up and running (well....maybe not Wall Street, LOL) when you awaken. And it will be fine because of the people like yourself who did sooooooooooo much. Thank you one and all from this household.

TAZ and all others who read this and share or wish to shay thanks, it is greatly appreciated.

I propose that all who respond, to any one (trying to place a blame or anger at a view point, be it doomer or pollie) on this forum, please stop and take a few moments to think about what that will really accomplish (nothing). Let's all just take stock of where we are now and what we have learned and put it to good use going forward.

MC,

I wish not to thank any y2k alarmist for scaring people (even if their intentions were good). Being afraid isn't at all fun. They used murky logic and questionable sources to come to their conclusions. Fortunately for all of us, most Americans didn't know about this little society of Ultra-Doomers and went on with their lives have at least a modicum of faith in authorities.

Am I very thankful that the American people (and people worldwide) did not in general buy into the doomer message (save some small time cash withdrawal, bottled water and gas fillups).
