I really like the lines and texture in this image, Billy. Did you use a filter for the blue effect? What film did you use?

Very interesting rendition!

Wow. Really neat color. Was this shot on Tungsten balanced film?

Thanks for the comments. This was shot on Fujichrome 50 (RF). It was taken well after sunset and the color is the result of the time of day. I had hiked far into the dunes and as the hour got later the color just got better and better. This was one of the last pictures I took before arriving back to my car and starting the long drive back to Albuquerque.

A nice interesting image, the only thing that bothers me is the corners being blocked (whats that word?) Pat

Pat,

I agree about the dark corners. My guess is that because it was rather late when I took this, and because the light was low I probobly shot with my 24 mm f2.8 nikkor pretty close to wide open in order to avoid reciprocity problems. Appearently this lens has fairly noticable light falloff at wide aperatures. This is probobly one of the only pictures I have that was shot with that lens at a wide f-stop. I usually use short lenses well stopped down and I cant think of any other pictures I took with that lens that show light falloff.
