I spoke with my parents this morning. They live in PA. Dad's social security check was supposed to be in his acct. on the 30th and as of this morning, it is still not there. Does anyone have information about this? Thank you so much. Dee

Social Security checks are perhaps the most visible and prominent of the "your check is in the mail" situation. Would be interested if anyone else notices delays, disruptions, or other curious behavior associated with the USPS.

What they said was that the banks & post office were sent the checks early, but they were not going to deliver/credit them till today...

Dee Sorry no info here, but would be interesting to know if your Dads acc. shows it at the end of today. We here are waiting for a SS check today via the mail. I will post back hear if our check shows up...---...

Called the bank this morning about an hour ago, both the wife's $22, and mine $306 was posted. This is the small portion they dole out to us, it is suppose to be twice that much, but since I am retired Air force and retired Postal, they saw fit to cut it in half.

My dad's check is in his account today 1-3-00--US Bank. Even has the increase added. Call your bank, as you are suppose to be able to have access to your check on the 3rd of every month.

Were the SSN digits correct in all locations on the check and the statement(s)?

Washington (Oregon too?) had several hundred thousand statements get issued with the middle two digits duplicated from the last two digits last month .....

First time I called the bank this morning the money had not arrived - waited a little while and called again and money was there. Some banks were bringing there systems up very slowly today.
