This That and The Other Thing

greenspun.com : LUSENET : I-695 Thirty Dollar License Tab Initiative : One Thread

A couple of weeks ago, I posted a topic regarding flow control issues on Interstates that run through our community. My post offered solutions regarding commercial vehicle traffic and Diamond lane options. It said that if we adjust commercial vehicle traffic by restricting them to the to far left lanes (except while approaching and departing the Interstate)immediate flow improvements would be experienced by commuters.

But, no one seemed to have responded to that post and I wonder why?

We need to stop arguing and begin platforming SOLUTIONS to present to the voters. Let's continue proactively and take our abilities as a group, to the next level. If we all agree that "It can be done." then by G-d let's show those G-Men how to do it. Enough bickering, let's get together at a Denny's somewhere. and sit down with pen and paper.

Or, we could all meet at a truck stop (they've got data ports & telephones at each dinner table) and we can sit next to each other and email back & forth. WHATEVER!!! "Let's get together." How does Wednesday night at 7:30 at the Dennys in Renton, Issaquah or Belevue sound? I'll leave the location up to you. Let's see if we can at least agree on a location to meet. Can we please do that?

I responded to your post back then, and I will do so again.

If most folks hate the idea of carpoolers wizzing by them in the left lane when they are stuck in traffic, then being passed by trucks in that lane would really tick them off. More so, if they were carpoolers.

On the surface it sounds like a good idea, but with congestion as bad as it is, I seriously doubt your idea would reduce it any.

The increased safety of your idea has merit. However, I am afraid you won't get much dialog on it here. I think it may appear to some people in this forum that your idea would be of benefit to the trucking industry but not to the rest of us.
