who was wrong?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

some pollies want GI's to admit they were wrong about Y2K. Let's see.. When the weather service issues a hurricane warning and you prep for it and it turns out the storm does not strike, does the weather service have to issue an I was wrong statement to the public or is it more reasonable to expect the weather service (Y2K experts) to issue these statements? In the real world we don't and won't get an I was wrong/sorry statement from the weather service. And anyway shouldn't only the preppers be demanding this I was wrong/sorry statement? What the hell is going on here? I feel like onthe Bizzarro world. You pollies demanding apo;ogies and I was wrong statements need to take a walk and be thankful that the doomers were wrong.Period.

Seems to this thing is still hanging off the coast... Indicators still bring it ashore.

Don't worry about who is wrong or right. Get up everyday excited that we have so much to live for and go out and kick some ass! The saying "Don't set your goals too low, you might hit them" is true. People who don't take action in their lives have nothing better to do than discuss other people's actions. My surroundings are awesome because I went out and earned it with hard work.

Great minds discuss ideas... Medium minds discuss things... Small minds discuss people...

People who said the utilities would go were wrong. People who said that there would be zero problems were wrong.

Still a lot of ground in the middle to cover. Let's wait and see, shall we?

The only people/opinion that is WRONG is the one that states this is over with!!

Lets watch ONE-TWO WEEKS of trillions of dollars of trades and hundreds of millions of banking transactions before we go trying to figure out if "All's well and normal". I do believe these aforementioned items will make for an INTERESTING WEEK or SO, since they cannot be faked or hidden or patched with chewing gum, duct tape or pushing dates around, etc.

Meanwhile, there will be prep items showing up at discount prices for those who started prepping late.

When you Roll with Punches, you learn the easy or hard way that you must always watch out for the "sucker punch". Once you experience this "sucker punch" you learn to assess things in a more calm, rational, and deliberative manner. Most of you know what I mean. For those who do not know this, order smelling salts NOW.
