I-695 opponents were principled citizens wanting to support needed government services while I-695 supporters were just in it for the money! NOY HARDLY! From the News Tribune: Many I-695 foes profit by delaying registration Several commercial fleets won't be registered until first week in January Joseph Turner; Businesses that tried to defeat Initiative 695 are now saving thousands of dollars by waiting until January to renew registrations on their entire fleets of vehicles, even though their license tabs expire in December. And the money they're saving from lower-cost tabs will more than offset what those companies spent on the effort to defeat the ballot measure. "There is some irony in it," said Tim Tucci, one of the owners of Tucci & Sons Inc. in Tacoma. "But separate the political and the business aspects." Tucci & Sons, a highway construction company, contributed $3,000 to the No On 695 campaign. But by waiting to register its fleet of 128 trucks and cars, the company will save "tens of thousands of dollars," Tucci said. "We're still opposed to the principle of 695. I feel it was a message sent at the cost of transportation," he said. "On the other hand, we're a business, too. You have to take advantage of whatever opportunities that are there for a business person. You'd be crazy not to."

So... I guess what Tucci is saying is... if a business takes advantage of this situation its OK...if an individual does, he's crazy!
