Every snake will show his true colors if ya' watch him long enough!

While not defending GN. I fnd t hard t believe that he would take down his site one post at a time. It would be easy for him just to pull the plug on the whole thing.

All GN did was post articles with his commentary. Why that upset folks so much is hard to believe. Folks had the chance to click on to the original and make up their own mind.

Methinks something else is at play here other than GN taking his down site one post at a time.

I just had the funniest thought. Some web management software puts dates on the files if you want to automatically kill old stuff when you put up new stuff.

If Gary really does have a Y2K problem, and didn't patch his software correctly, he could have automatically outdated all his stuff and be deleting it whenever he tries to edit an HTML document.

Wonder if he would ever admit to such a problem? Or just claim viruses or hackers blew him away?

Why would GN need a lawyer for posting his commentary along with articles and reports from other websites? Even if his opinion is that the sky is falling, he had a right to say it. You had the option of simply not believing it.

Gary who?

Oh, that guy with the track record of faulty predictions about apocalypse and the desire to see western civ hit the skids.

Is he still alive?

Stop slamming North for his predictions. You were free to draw your own conclusions, based on the info he dug up. Agree with him or not, he provided all of us with critical information on the biggest threat any of us ever faced. Had it not been repaired (and that was anybody's guess right up to the last minute), most of his predictions would probably come true - to one extent or another.

Let's face it, we all lost a lot of sleep over Y2K. Even the pollys did, otherwise why spend so much time lurking and moaning. Nobody, but nobody, knew what the outcome would be. Just praise God, thank Gary, Ed, Peter, Mike, Jim and all the others who saw a real danger and tried to tell the rest of us so that we too, could decide for ourselves what to do. Don't be an ingrate.

I will be forever grateful to them and will always respect their opinions. Just because we dodged a bullet, doesn't mean the gun wasn't fired.

God Bless you all.

Very generous attitude, but will you renew your subscriptions?

Hey guys! Why knock Gary? It was a beautiful summer like day here, not any think like winter usually is. The dirt is still under my feet. The lights still work, we are still able to grumble at each other. So if a a few predictions are not met. Tell me, the United States still has the same form and shape it had five, ten, fifteen, one hundred years ago. We have the same shore lines, the same rivers, the same landscape. Yet Nostradamus, Edgar Cacy, and others foretold of gloom and doom. According to them a great portion of the landscape was suppose to be under water by this time. We were to have been engaged in terrible wars, and the antichrist was suppose to be in charge of a one world government. None of that has taken place that I am able to see. These guys were hyped up to be so great, now I hear not a word about them, they like our freedoms have faded from our sight. Just be thankful that what Garry predicted did not come about, bbut be even more thankful that these past predictors of doom and gloom were wrong as well.

I think you need to let some more time pass before you decide that Y2K is nothing. If you check carefuly, you'll see that there have been quite a few little glitches already. Also, many power and other utility companies converted to manual systems for the turnover. Many businesses shut off their systems completely for the weekend. We need to sit back and watch how this plays out. It ain't over till the fat lady sings, and it seems to me that she's just barely entered the theater.

Hey Paul Davis!,

How is that white collar welfare going for ya. Can we all get a job with the COE or are you just special? Can we all be on White Collar welfare like you?

What is your source for this statement? I have been working with a large utility on the west coast for two years on the Y2K project. Not one of our systems was on manual for the century rollover and they all functioned fine. Do you work for a utility? If not, how do you know what they did or didn't do?
