Does any know of any software that can burn pictures to a CD-R that can be read by a DVD player and viewed on a TV?

Adaptec's "Easy CD Creator 4 Deluxe" can create Video CD's. I think you would have to make slide slows in MPEG format first. Take a look at their web page at, "http://www.adaptec.com/products/faqs/vidcd.html". Good luck

Be careful about your choice of DVD player (I assume you are referring to external players for home theatre use). Most can read off CD Rewritable discs, CD-RW, but NOT from CD-R discs, due to the differences in reflectivity values of the two types and the laser system in the DVD drive.

Some DVD players - such as Sony models have two laser pickups that CAN read CD-R discs, but most players cannot. Mine - a Denon 3000 (with Panasonic innards) can only read expensive CD-RWs, not CD-Rs.
