Scotty, Check the system date - see if it is way off - someone else had a similar problem - reset it to 1/1/2000

Scotty,

Clean the two axis rollers where the mouse ball fits. You probably have lint built up on them, particularly the horizontal, or azimuth, axis one.

check the keyboard for a stuck key; especially Shift or Cntrl; sometimes they are hard to see, but one stuck key will cause havoc with the mouse

Thanks to all.

I've also had trouble with my mouse not recognizing links on the internet just in the last hour. It's a new computer and mouse- I thought it might be my server. Problem cleared when I rebooted, tho'.

Don't know if you all will see this but here is another thing...clean out your cache[Netscape] or Temporary Internet Files[Explorer]....you might be running out of RAM....

NO ANSWER BUT MY SERIAL MOUSE GETS STUCK WHEN I SIGN ON TO AOL 7.0, 6.0 AND HAVE TO SIGN ON TO AOL TO GET ONLINE. CHANGED SERIAL MOUSE, RELOADED DRIVERS FOR MOUSE. CLEANDED MOUSES AND PAD, CLEANED AOL CACHE, AND EVEN RELOADED AOL. MOUSE STICKS ON MY OLDER COMPUTER ONLY WHEN DIALING UP, WORKED OK WITH MY DSL BUT NOW I HAVE TO DIAL UP AND WHEN DIALING TO AOL MOUSE LOCKS UP. TOOK OFF MODEM DEVICES FROM AOL AND RELOADED (AUTO)DETECT, AND STILL LOCKS UP, ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS, WIN 98, NOW TRIED (ME) I HAVE AT THE MOMENT. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE WELCOME WITH DETAILS. THANKS SO MUCH RAY
