One Down... Two More To Go.

The audience and critics were underwhelmed as the curtain fell after Act I of the new hit play, "Y2K." The opening performance was "uneventful" and some audience members were disappointed, considering this was one of the most talked about and expensive three-act plays ever produced.

During the intermission, some of the less sophisticated people in the audience demanded a refund. They were expecting a "Rambo" or Clint Eastwood style action thriller with plenty of terrorists, bad guys, blood-and-guts and special effects. One person was injured when he tripped over his ammunition belt and fell face-first onto a portable generator he had brought to the theater. One other person reportedly choked on a dried bean.

According to an inside source, who requested anonymity, Act II of "Y2K" will begin early next week and focus on the financial sector. The source said not to expect too much excitement. Act II will feature traditional scenes of outnumbered protagonists being hounded and ridiculed.

As in all good three-act plays, the payoff comes in the final act. Act III of "Y2K" will open in several theaters world-wide and is not a 'shoot 'em up' play, but rather a Michael Douglas-style business drama. My source made me promise not to reveal the mystery ending, but I suggest you stay tuned...

Actually a better analogy would be a 9 act play. We are in the middle of act 5 with very positive results so far. We will know more how act 5 turns out by Wednesday as the reports trickle in as factories and companies start up systems on Monday. I find it funny that people keep claiming that y2k is just starting. All of last year was related to y2k as systems were looking ahead, but as of yesterday it seems most people have forgotten that.
